Plant Tours

Overview -

Our clients have always handled their plant tours themselves with a little help from us with some tour guide equipment.

Equipment

Over-the-Shoulder PA Systems -

These lightweight, battery powered systems a perfect for many plant tours. They are louder and sound much better than a megaphone, and have a strap that allows the weight of the unit to rest on your shoulder. A small pocket-type CD player can also be connected to the units to allow a pre-recorded safety message or disclaimer to be played and heard by all. The units we supply are used by most of the major theme parks.

Wireless Headset System -

These systems work particularly well in a noisy environment. They are also less disturbing to plant workers than the over-the-shoulder PA systems. These systems use a small pack (about the size of a deck of cards) to transmit the signals from the tour guide. Each of the tour participants has a similar pack that is a wireless receiver connected to a lightweight headset. These systems allow the tour guide to speak in a normal speaking voice, yet be heard over very noisy industrial equipment. These systems have four channels, so up to four simultaneous tours may be conducted in close proximity to each other. These systems also work well on tour buses and when there is a problem keeping the tour group together due to noise or visual obstructions. These systems are radio based, so they operate around corners and up to 100’ away.
